Congressman Frank R. Wolf, R-lOth District, was unable to attend the Republican Bar-B-Q and rally Saturday afternoon at the Washington Fire Hall because Congress remained in session to work on budget appropriations and the Immigration Bill, but local Republicans seemed to enjoy their time together anyway.
Bob Darby said, "I feel honored to have Frank Wolf as my Congressman." He noted that Rep. Wolf had organized a job fair for former Aileen workers when the plant closed and for workers at Vint Hill when the base closing was announced.
"He has kept his eye on matters other people ignore," Mr. Darby said, mentioning the plight of the people of the Sudan. He said Frank Wolf had also one of the first to question security clearances of people in and outside the Clinton administration who were going in and out of the White House, and that led to the knowledge that unauthorized people were viewing the records of Republicans in the Bush administration.
