Both boys’ and girls' cross country teams came out on top in three-way competition with Clarke County and Page County at Page last Wednesday.
Rappahannock boys finished in first, fifth, sixth, eighth and 10th places for a score of 30 to 39 for Clarke County and 83 for Page County.
Chris Sause ran first overall with a time of 18:18. Matt Wolfe finished fifth overall with a time of 19:06, and Chris Dennis finished sixth with a time of 19:08. Chad Heddleston was eighth with a time of 19:33 and Mark Williams was 10th with a time of 19:37. In addition Jeff Atkins was 11th and Sky Watson was 13th. Tommy Baldwin, Jason Baldwin, Joshua Waddell, Alex Baumgardner, Nathan Flinchym, Jesse Von Fange, Nile Watson, Michael Fairbrother, Abe McLear, Brady Wolfe, and Zack Corbin also finished the race running for Rappahannock.
Rappahannock girls finished first, third, fourth, sixth and seventh for a score of 21 to 40 for Clarke County. Page County did not field a full girls’ team.
Meghan Fairbrother was first overall with a time of 22:30, Jessica Gheen was third with a time of 23:48, and Emily Sims was fourth with a time of 23:56.
