The Washington School House was buzzing and bustling last Friday, as a score of community-minded vol. unteers turned out to hammer, drill, saw, shovel and scrub the county's new .senior citizen center into existence. ; "This is the fir^t time in Rappahannock County that we have an accessible senior center," said Michael Soule, senior advocate with the Community Services Board, as he t0ok a few minutes off from digging new flower beds at the edge of the School's front porch. "For the first time, people who really want to come here can get in."
Since the late 1970s, the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board has operated the senior citizen nutrition site in the parish hall of Trinity Episcopal Church.
