Lagging far behind in the polls with only five weeks until voters cast their ballots, Democratic Party U.S. Senate candidate Mark Warner is stepping up his attacks on incumbent Republican John Warner.
Mark Warner is trying to convince voters that his opponent, with his high approval rating from the Christian Coalition, is one of the extremist elements of the GOP, a Washingtonian working from the inside to dismantle all that's good in government.
"The best solutions are often at the local level, but that doesn't mean you don't have any government," he said.

Paving Job Delayed
Paving the driveway ' and parking lot at the county library will have to wait until Spring, but it will happen •
At a meeting last week the board of directors of the Friends of the Rappahannock Library voted to contribute up to $20,000 to the project. That will enable the Library Board to go ahead with the project. However, asphalt companies say they need three days of weather that does not drop below 60 degrees for the paving product to cure. Library Board members said.
As a result the board will proceed with drawing up
