increasing Head Start programs to help thousands more children get a strong educational start, creating greater school-to-work opportunities for young people who aren’t going to college, teaching every schoolchild how to use a computer and be connected to the "information superhighway," and making college tuition payments partially deductible. We need Mark Warner and Bob Weinberg to help pass these programs.

Heart Broken
To the Editor:
My heart is broken following the defeat in the Senate last Thursday, Sept. 26, of the effort to override President Clinton's veto of the PartialBirth Abortion Ban.
Thanks to everyone who called their Senators. We may feel like giving up, but we can't — thousands of precious babies are depending on us.
The ban would have just applied to late-term abortions (usually from 4 1/2 to 9 months).
When the American people realize this is seldom done for the life of the mother, but is usually elective, they will demand an end to the infanticide.
