RCHS Band
• With new uniforms the RCHS band is looking spiffy. With a {lew director they are sounding significantly better. But band teacher Cecile Scott is not satisfied. She wants new instruments [■or the band, especially the instruments that add resonance to the base sound. I The band started with a number of instruments donated by the Rappahannock Women's Club many years ago. After all these l^ears they are now in sad shape. Besides the large instruments Ms. Scott wants, there is also a need for more ordinary instruments such as clarinets and trumpets so that no child who wants to learn to play an instrument will be cut out of the program jiecause of the cost of purchasing an instrument. I About $8,000 more must be raised to to buy the large wind Instruments. More will be needed to also buy more ordinary instruments. Ms. Scott is hoping the community will come through with donations so the deeper, richer sound can be a part pf this year's performances. I Contributions made out to RCHS and designated for the Band boosters can be left at the high school.
