Sixty students at RCHS have contribute^ their ideas and artistic talent to create three murals as part of their learning about conflict resolution.
The murals are the first phase of an artist-in-residency project taught by Washington artist and educator Laurie Marshall. The murals illustrate the three ACB’s of conflict resolution; as defined by Martha Hardy of Pittsburgh, who is well known in the field of conflict resolution. The ACB's are: Arguing the viewpoints; Clarifying the needs; and Brainstorming solutions.
Ms. Marshall came up with the basic design for each of the murals with help from the students who provided sketches to work from. Ms. Marshall took the sketches to Mrs. Hardy and together they designed the background of the murals with empty spaces that the itudents could fill in with their drawings and paintings.
