Everyone's talking about it— the expansion at Talk of the Town. The shop in Washington, Va. originally opened in April 1994, but since then the business has grown so that owner Elaine Kramer desperately needed more space.
She and her husband, Peter Kramer, artist/cabinetmaker, decided it was time to merge.
"It seemed the direction to take," Peter said. "To expand our furniture showroom to include and build up accessories."
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving they began the expansion.
"Right before the busiest shopping day of the year we began the expansion" Elaine said. "It was a mess. Nothing like working under pressure!"
With the added room Elaine will be able to increase the inventory and have room for seasonal items such as
