At its regular meeting last week, the Rappahannock Planning Commission approved a portion of its proposal concerning the conservation zoning district amendments to the zoning chapter of the county code.
After several years of work on drafting the proposal the commission, this year, has fine tuned the document and is satisfied with at least half of it.
The portion, which will be forwarded to . the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors, deals with the first and second sections and part of the third.
The first section states: “Amend Sec. 170-37 to alter the maximum allowable density in the Conservation Zone from one house per 25 acres to one house per 50 acres.”
The second section says: “Eliminate the requirement in Sec. 170-22 B. (2) for slope calculations in the Conservation Zone by adding at end of section: Except that in the Conservation district, no such density calculation shall be made for excessive slopes; property in the Conservation district with steep slopes shall be calculated on a direct 1:1 basis.”
And section three H: “Amend Sec. 170-38 by adding a new section H., to read as follows: Single-family residences in Conservation Zoning District —
