Francis L. “Buck” Payne of Sperryville is a native of Rappahannock County who recently returned to live here after a 24-year career in the U.S. Navy. He is also president of the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad and a member of the Lions Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Beth Gall of Castleton is a teacher at Rappahannock County High School who has lived in the county for 13 years. She teaches a new course in environmental science at the high school which emphasizes local issues and involves students in field studies, Save Our Streams projects an other environmental concerns.
