“(3) Where alternatives exist, sewage disposal systems involving gravity-fed drain field systems shall not be placed on slopes exceeding 25 percent. Alternative sewage disposal systems which are approved by the Virginia Department of Health and which require the removal of lesser amounts of vegetative cover, particularly arboreal material, are encouraged.”
Several parts of section three of the proposal dealing with land clearing activities, replantation, Conservation Zone Site Plans and exterior lighting were not approved and will not go forward to the supervisors at this time.
With the exception of Sharon Pierce, commission chair, who abstained, the commissioners all voted in favor of the motion to send the portion of the proposal outlined above to the supervisors.
The supervisors meet on Dec. 1 at 2 and 7 p.m. in the courthouse.
