A seminar on how to deal with the year 2000 problem was held on April 7 at the town of Washington Fire Hall. The event was sponsored by Rappahannock National Bank.
About 15-20 county residents attended the seminar, which was intended to inform people of what is being done not only in the banking industry but by the government and other industries as well.
The speaker was Terrie Cloud, Project Manager from Vitex, Incorporated. Vitex, based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, is working with Union Bankshares - which owns Rappahannock National and a number of other banks in the area - to ensure that their systems are Y2K compliant.
