is proua 10 announce that Laura Prahlad, a fifth grade student, has qualified for the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth - Young Students Talent Search. This program seeks participants with exceptional mathematical and/or verbal reasoning abilities among fifth and sixth graders in order to identify, challenge and reward young people with academic talent. Congratulations, Laura!
• The next boys Lacrosse game will be at WCDS on Thursday, April 15 at 4:30. We will host Notre Dame Academy. Good luck guys!
• More sports news: WCDS girls soccer team will play RMA on Thursday, April 15 4:30. This will be held at Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal. Best of lucK, girls!
• On Tuesday, March 31, Key Club members visited Sunny Slope Home for Adulte in Flint Hill to celebrate Easter with residents there. Mrs. Pam Lynn-Tucker’s art class helped with decorations and Mrs. Wingfield’s first grade class made Easter cards for each of the 12 residents. Special thanks also go to Mrs. Dowell for preparing the Easter baskets which the residents each received. This visit ended with the singing of Easter songs by eighth graders, Mandee Judd and Rachel Lucas.
• A reminder to all alumni out there, the annual “Silver Bucket” basketball game will be held on April 24. Take your chances and play against our boys varsity team. If interested, call the school at 635-8555.
• On Sunday, April 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. WCDS will be having an open house for anyone interested in finding out more about our school. This will be a good opportunity to visit the school and meet with students, faculty, and parents.
