• Helen Williams discussed the Special Education Annual Plan and state special education requirements*, f Ms. Williams noted that a new state grant will be used for an additional transition jobs coach with the goal of increasing the special education school completion rate by 10 percent.
• The board agreed to permit school buses to be used for 4-H program activities.
• Raye Tupper presented instructional team recommendations for mathematics textbooks, and the board will render a decision after parental review of recommendations.
• RCHS Student Representative Jami Gillis noted that the murals are up and offered kudos to Laurie Marshall for her efforts; she discussed debate team success at State regionals and SOL-related review progress in US history; and, conveyed student desires for a track.
• The Facilities Subcommittee reported that they reviewed bids for RCHS roof addition engineering and recommended award to Wise Associates. S
• Assistant Superintendent Mary Ann Bigges reported that computer equipment was donated by Robert Dennis, Margaret Lee and Sara Roach. The board moved to accept donations.
