Patrick Alther of Sperryville has been elected to membership in Phil Beta Kappa at the University of Virginia where he is a senior, majoring in Arts and Political Science. He has also received a scholarship to do graduate work for about two years in Manchester, England. Patrick is the son of Martha Alther and a 1965 graduate of Rappahannock County High School. The Rappahannock Junior Woman’s Club will meet April 22 at the Trinity Episcopal Parrish Hall, Washington. Officers will be elected. Mrs. Valeria Jones and Mrs. Karen Beard will serve as hostesses. The organization meeting for the ,’4th of July exhibit at the library “Rappahannock County, Then and Now”, will be held April 23 at Mrs. Mary Cleverley’s in Flint Hill. The spring Cancer Crusade for funds for the American Cancer Society has begun and the Rappahannock Unit has launched its drive with gusto. As of Wednesday morning the total receipts amounted to $500.50. The
