The Culpeper Piedmont Choral Society proudly presents its 1999 spring concerts, “Music of the Masters.”
Two concerts are being presented for your enjoyment. The first will be on Friday, April 16 at 8 p.m. at The Lake of the Woods Church in Locust Grove. The second will be at the Precious Blood Catholic Church in Culpeper on Sunday, April 18 at 3 p.m. • The Choral Society, directed by Arthur Palmer of Warrenton and accompanied this concert season by Clifton Stroud of Centreville will be performing a collection of choral music by such composers as Bach, Mozart, Brahms and others.
A portion of the program will include certain selections fVom “Elijah” by Felix Mendelssohn.
“Elijah” is a very dramatic piece. The choral society is especially proud to have the role of Elijah sung by Keith Wagner of Madison.
Mr. Wagner is the founder of the Madison Choral Society and a member of the Montpelier Singers. He has also performed on numerous occasions as guest baritone soloist with other groups.
