BY GLENDA GUM Rappahannock News Contributing Writer The Rappahannock Soccer League kicked off its spring season on April 10 with two nailbiting matches. U-12 Rapp 2 - 3 U-12 Rapp 1 - 2 The Under-12 Rappahannock 1 team, coached by George Sonnet with assistants Melissa Rodden and Bob Lucking, faced off with the Under-12 Rappahannock 2 Firebirds, who are coached by Tom Pendleton and assistant Linda Torrance, at Rappahannock High School. The Firebirds took a 2-0 half-time lead before Rapp 1 came back to tie the game in the second half. The Firebirds, however, scored a late goal to win the game.
