Bus trip to National Cathedral
The Annual Flower Mart at the Washington National Cathedral will take place May 7 and 8. To avoid the hassle of driving to this popular event, join Trinity Episcopal Church Women on Friday, May 7 and travel by bus, leaving the church parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is available to buy at stands on the grounds of the Cathedral. The bus will return that afternoon, leaving the Cathedral at 3 p.m. Expected time of arrival back at the church is 4:30 p.m. Round-trip cost: $15 per person. Amissville VFD plans auction
Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue company will host their annual auction on May 1 at 6 p.m. All items must be in good condition and all appliances must be in working condition. Should you have items for pickup please call 937-5205, 937-4218, 937-4954 or 937-5282.
SummerQuest applications available :
Gifted and talented students presently in grades 5, 6 and 7 are eligible to apply for a two week summer program held at Rappahannock County Elementary School. There is no cost. SummerQuest runs from July 26 to Aug. 6. The theme for this year is Brain Power: You Don’t Have to Be a Genius to Think Like One. Classes are offered in the ■ areas of art, history, math, music, science and writing. Deadline for applications is April 30.

Open house at Belle Meade

Lions plan auction
Spring is in the air and with spring comes that spring cleaning and remodeling. In doing your spring cleaning, remodeling or just garage cleaning, remember the Rappahannock Lions. The Lions are having their annual auction on Saturday, May 15 at 6 p.m. at the Washington fire hall.
The Lions are accepting new, used or good repair items. They will pick up any donated items at a convenient time for you. Sorry food, mattresses, clothes or non-working appliances cannot be accept. If you would like to support the work of Lions through donating to the auction contact Buck Payne at 987-8303 or Roger Andrews at 987-8974. Remember all donations are tax deductible and serve a worthy cause in the community for those less fortunate.
