Despite all of the worry, Cloud l says that the United States is in pretty good shape as far as preparing for Y2K. Some figures he gave the audience were:
- 90% of the federal government’s over 6,000 critical systems are year 2000-compliant as of March 31, 1999.
- Of 24 major federal agencies, 13 are 100% compliant including Social Security and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
- All of the remaining federal agencies are at least 85% compliant.
