Thank you to everyone who turned out to support the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue’s Carnival! The weather was picture perfect!
Congratulations to Emily Taylor who was crowned Queen for 1999, Kady Gum who was crowned as Junior Miss, and Emily Stuart who was crowned as Little Miss.
Special thanks to all the ladies who competed and, especially to Sandi Carter who coordinated the contest, kept the girls in tickets, and decorated the float for the parade. According to Sandi, a record number of tickets were sold by the contestants an all are to be commended for their hard work.
Congratulations to Gerry Canipe who won the $1,000 grand prize from Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue in the drawing held Saturday night. I should have a list of the parade winners by next week’s column.
Our sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Ida Lee Zimbro who passed away this past week.
