What a shame that our Board of Supervisors has once again

allowed the wealthy land owners of Rappahannock County to dictate the services received by all citizens of the county. The Fire Levy is not a burden to anyone in the county, including Mr. Massie and Mr. Welch, when you take into consideration that all of the county residents are receiving 24 hour a day/7 day a week fire and rescue service protection. I think we all know the benefits of having insurance policies in place.

The Fire Levy provides for insurance of fire/rescue service. Each fire/rescue company in the county is having great difficulty getting members and raising enough funds to operate. Contrary to popular belief the Fire Levy does not provide all the funds needed to operate a department and I don’t know of a single fire/rescue department member who really enjoys flipr
