Loan Deficiency Payments (LDPs) are available to the farmers when the market rate falls below the county loan rate for a crop. With .grain prices dropping, farmers may be eligible for a LDP. This is a direct payment to the farmer and does not have to be repaid. The payment is based on the difference between the market rate and the county loan rate for the crop on a specific day.
