A few months later, they decided to contact Ms Yatchak again. They arranged to purchase the current pair, which arrived a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, they were too late for the latest bear incident. The bear came back around the first of April, and there are still paw prints on the bam and a shed where it tried to get to some food.
Matt is reluctant to let these dogs range. He keeps them located “centrally in a kennel,” and walks them several times a day. He would be willing, however, to put them in the barn if needed to deter the unwelcome visitors. He also would like them to confront bears someday, but says “we’re not to that point yet.”
