of Supervisors approved the library budget at their meeting of June 22. He also reported that the second portion of the Judith Lucas bequest, amounting to $40,894 was received by the library. These funds are to be used exclusively “for the purchase of children’s books and/or children’s visual aids.”
Other activities
• State aid for the 19992000 fiscal year will be $28,113.
• The Friday Night Program with Bob Ryan that was scheduled for June 18 was indefinitely postponed.
• The Fourth of July book sale is on target.
• Treasurer Helen Platt reported that expenditures are in conformance with budgets, and library funds, through May 31, 1999, amount to $295,552.41.
