Quilting class set
A quilting class sponsored by Yarn and More will begin July 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. The class will meet for five consecutive Mondays. Cost for the class is $60. Contact Ellen Manson to register, 675-1350.
Sports physicals offered
Although the school year is barely over, administrators are already preparing for next year. RCHS Athletic Director Mike Tupper announced that Virginia High School League Physicals will be given at the Rappahannock Medical Center on July 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. The VHSL physical form will be available at the Medical Center. There will be a $10 fee to Medical Center.
Art workshop slated
On Saturday, July 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Laurie Marshall will hold a workshop to explore making art inspired by the story of Genesis. Charcoal, pastel and watercolor will be used. The cost is $65 for adults, $25 for students, including materials. Scholarships are available. Call 675-3267 for details and to register by July 16.
Animal Communication workshop set

Mosby Museum open house planned
On July 4 from 2:30 to 5 p.m., the John Singleton Mosby Foundation will hold an Independence Day celebration at Historic Brentmoor, the future home of the Mosby Museum, in Warrenton. For the second time since the house was built in 1859, Brentmoor, located at 73 Main Street, will open to the public for touring and refreshments. Activities will include croquet on the lawn, civil war era music, and guided tours of the house and grounds. Hotdogs, cookies and beverages will also be available. Contestants sought
The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company is seeking contestants for their annual Honorary Fire Queen Contest for this year’s carnival. Contestants will be selling tickets for a beanie baby raffle and a heifer raffle. The queen and runners up will receive savings bonds, flowers, tierras and sashes.
