This land is lots 9,11,13 and 15 of the Oden Subdivision, which are contiguous and comprise 12,911 square feet. They front on Oden Ave. off Rt. 626 (Jett Street) just West of the Town Boundary of Washington, Virginia, and were acquired by James Edward Freeman and Rosie Broy Freeman by deed from Blondell Jackson Smith and John D. Smith at Deed Book 77 page 446. See Deed Book 35 page 320 for plat of subdivision. The owners of record are James Edward Freeman and Rosie Broy Freeman, both deceased. The property has passed to their successors in interest.

Total amount owed to the County of Rappahannock on this property is $11,000. A current survey is available by contacting the County Attorney.

Terms of Sale: Sale to the highest bidder at public auction. No deposit is required in order to participate in the auction. A $3,000 deposit by cashier's or certified check payable to "Clerk, Circuit Court" will be required from the highest bidder at the conclusion of the auction. Purchaser to receive Special Warranty deed as provided by §58.1-3967 of the Code of Virginia. Property will be conveyed free of all liens of record and free of the interests of James Edward Freeman and Rosie Broy Freeman and their successors in interest. Sale is subject to court approval and deposit will be returned if sale is not approved. Closing will be approximately 30 days following auction.

This sale was ordered by the Circuit Court for Rappahannock County, Virginia in the case of The County of Rappahannock vs. James Edward Freeman, et als, Chancery No. 98CH-54, to pay delinquent real estate taxes.
