I had been so busy throughout May I didn’t get a chance to go visit her, but her pastor did, and she sent word by him to me, “that if I didn’t come to see her she was going to scratch me off her list.” She laughed heartily when I told her I got her message. I should think no one wants to be scratched off anyone’s list, especially hers.
A member since July 1946 of Thornton Gap Primitive or Old School Baptist Church in Old Hollow near Sperryville, where she remains a staunch, true believer in the Sovereignty of God. “For by Grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God lest any man should boast.” Although she is unable to attend meetings anymore. She says, “I was bom an Old School Baptist and I’ll die an Old School Baptist.” We salute this dear old Mother in Israel upon reaching this milestone in her blessed life.
