King, Queen contestants sought
The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company is seeking boys and girls to participate in the annual Honorary Fire King and Queen Contest. Contestants will be selling raffle tickets for a purebred Black Angus heifer and a cash prize.
Interested parties should contact Charlotte Turnmeyer at 635-8278. This year’s carnival will be held July 26 - 29. The parade is July 28.
Dennis at PEC office on Fridays
Bob Dennis will be at the Rappahannock Piedmont Environmental Office every Friday from 9:30 to 12. Summer camps scheduled
TASC for Teens of Jeffersonton is organizing and leading two 2-week Canadian Wilderness Fishing Summer Camps to beautiful Northern Ontario for youth ages 10-17 on July 8-21 and July 29-Aug. 11. The trips will leave from Jeffersonton and include qualified and caring staff, complete instruction, round-trip transportation, meals, most camping equipment, cabin lodging and motorboat. Page derby set, applications accepted
Applications are being accepted for the demolition derby to be held Friday, Aug. 25 during the Page Valley Fair. Drivers must be 21 years of age. Cars may include any American made stock, hardtop automobile or station wagon. No oversize vehicles or ' trucks are allowed. Official entry blanks are available at your local auto parts store or by calling 743-4949. Registration is limited to the first 60 applications and yours will be acknowledged by return mail.
Artists' host Middle Street show
