Rappahannock News Photo/Barbara C. Wayland The Class of 1935 held their 65th reunion on Friday evening at The Flint Hill Public House. Six classmates along with ten guests attended the dinner. Pictured left to right, Jack DeBergh, Mrs. Lula Gentry Clemens, Mrs. Mabel Pullen Lillard, Rayner Snead, Franklin Boldridge and Robert Cook. The six remaining classmates certainly led active lives. Mr. DeBergh was an officer in World War II, returned as a dapper and flamboyant teacher at Washington High School. He later became Chief Probation and Parole Officer. Mrs. Clemens retired from nursing in 1969 to become bookkeeper for her husband’s marina. Mrs. Lillard retired in 1980 after a distinguished career as postmistress of Flint Hill Post Office. Mr. Snead completed law school and four years in the Navy. He returned to Washington, Va. in 1945 and has been Circuit Court judge since 1953. He retired in 1980 but is recalled to court and does arbitration. Mr. Boldridge was a chemistry professor at Randolph Macon College. He retired in 1983. Mr. Cook went from a draftee to First Sergeant in 18 months with 15 letters of commendation and two superior performance awards; he became a Ranger for National Park Service.
