Amissville Rescue Squad has purchased a new ambulance, a 1975 Chevrolet, vantype, fully equipped to meet the Department of lYansportation specifications. The $17,500 unit went into service this week. In a photograph Paul Poling hands the keys to James B. Carter as Larry Dorcis looks on. The contemporary home of Mr. and Mrs. Waldron O'Connor near Washington will be open for the 18th annual house tour this weekend. The glass and wood structure provides a panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The interior tastefully combines the modem and traditional with heirloom furniture and family portraits. In a photograph of apple butter making at the Edward Clark home on Fodderstack Road it was noted the apples were cooked for approximately 16 hours. A half-cord of wood was used to cook the 13 bushels of apples peeled the day before. After all the apples are added they must cook for another five hours. Spices and sugar were added for the last hour of cooking. The pot must be stirred all the time the fruit
