Golf tournament set
The newly formed Rappahannock County School Sports Association is holding their first fund raiser, a golf tournament on Saturday, Oct. 21. The tournament will be played in Front Royal at the Jackson Chase Golf Club beginning at 1 p.m.
A barbecue dinner will be served at the end of the day. A maximum of eighteen teams can play. All funds raised from the tournament will benefit the Rappahannock County School athletic programs. For more information or to enter a team call Cathy Kreyling at 987-8131.
Family portraits to be taken
Get your family, friends, relatives and co-workers to have their picture taken at Amissville United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 21 and help the church raise some funds for the building fund. For only $5 each family will have their portrait taken by a professional photographer and will receive a 10x13 color portrait free. Additional portraits may also be purchased. Band Boosters to meet

Pickin' party scheduled
There will be a 4-H pickin’ party at Hackley's Country Store in Amissville on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 2-4 p.m. Bring your instrument, singing voice and lawn chair for an afternoon of down home fun. Rappahannock 4-H will be selling raffle tickets for a 50/50 raffle and scarecrows and milk jug skeletons to welcome the fall season. Aerobic classes underway
On-going aerobic classes are held at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:15 to 9:30. A total body workout which includes 30 minutes of low-impact aerobics, floor work, weights and yoga stretches. For information call Beth Levick at 635-6149.
Craft bazaar planned
A Christmas craft bazaar will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Culpeper United Methodist Church. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served in the fellowship hall. Baked goods and other homemade foods will also be available for purchase. Shopping will include all sorts of crafts and Christmas items for both family and friends.
