Well is it fall or winter? It has been awfully cold the last couple of days, but the forecast for next weekend is looking great! Keep your fingers crossed!
The Amissville Fall Festival is all set, the vendors are coming and so is plenty of food at several of the locations.
At the Lazy S, Connie Payne's Girl Scout troop will have hot dogs, drinks and desserts. The CCLC Afterschool 4-H group will be having a bake sale.
Lombardy's Restaurant will be there as well. Debra Norris has homemade candles and there will be a wool display as well. Several of the 4-H groups are having animal displays, the Dairy Goat Club, the Small Animal Club and the Horse and Pony Club.
Hackley’s is hosting a pickin' party with the 4-H Honor Club. The club also has made milk jug skeleton's for Halloween and they will be having a 50/50 raffle. Brad will have hand-dipped ice cream, old fashioned soda's and pork barbecue. Mr. Brook's antique cars will be on display as well.
The Amissville Fire Department will be having its open house. The Smokehouse will be there for children and adults to go through. The Medi-vac Helicopter will be landing on the heli-pad and there will be safety demonstrations in the firehouse as well. The new ambulance will be on display with the other fire equipment, and volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Of course the festival grounds will be a buzz with activities. Food vendors, crafters, demonstrations, displays, the Ruritans quilt raffle, and the AACA silent auction.
