Charles Wilson Sr. was drafted into the Army in 1940 and served in the Army Air Corps Medical Service in the European theater. After the war, he completed his pharmacy degree and worked toward his goal to become a physician.

In Tallahassee, Fla, he established a successful practice as a plastic surgeon, specializing in burn and reconstructive x surgery and indulged in his lifelong interest in sailing.

After several years < sailing to distant shores Dr. Wilson pursued a second consuming interest in cdokinsr.

Purchasing property in Rappahannock County, he opened and ran a successful Bed and Breakfast Inn, Thistle Hill and catering service. Illness and a desire to return to his love of fishing resulted in the closing of the business and relocation to North Carolina.

There, in his home on the banks of the Neuse River, he enjoyed his final days.
