Fall is upon us with the temperature getting colder and the first killing frost not far away. Frost is temperature below the freezing point of water or frozen dew. This means the last flowers of fall and the garden work will be over for another season. The good thing about all this for those who have had so much grass to mow, there will soon be some rest. • Hunting season came in this week and the woods will be full of camouflaged men with bow and arrows. Squirrel season comes in on Oct. 14. Black powder season begins on Nov. 6.
The Hunters Moon is the full moon this month. Be sure and look at it on Oct. 13 at 3:53 a.m. This is called the Hunters Moon since in Indian lore and folk custom there was more light at that time and game would be visible. The
