Strauss studied church music at the State Academy of Music in Freiburg and completed studies towards the highest degree available in Germany, the "A-Exam." He founded the Bach Consortium Thomas Strauss and appears frequently with Wolfgang Bauer, solo trumpeter with the radio symphony orchestra in Frankfurt.
His numerous radio recordings, CDs and live transmissions in Germany and the United States illustrate his extensive ability. Strauss has given concerts in Germany, France, Norway, Italy, Sardinia, Switzerland and the United States and will be performing at Shenandoah University's Bach-Handel Festival Oct. 27-29.
His organ concert at the Front Royal Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. will include classical and light music. The public is invited to attend. Donations to the Front Royal Presbyterian Church Performing Arts Series are accepted.
