He also assisted Mt. DeSales Academy in Catonsville, Md. when financial pressures threatened its continued existence. With the dedication of the Padre Pio library at Mt. DeSales Academy, the school again flourished.
He was a member of the Order of Malta and numerous other Catholic organizations.
Mr. Carrigan's wife, Ramona, died in 1989. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
