Carnival to kick off
Colonial Christmas
RAAC will show an amazing collection of Christmas cartoons at The Theatre on Gay Street Friday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m.
The nine cartoons were chosen especially for Washington's Colonial Christmas celebration by Brian Fox of Swank Films, RAAC's favorite film distributor.
Leading'off the evening will be "Mickey's Christmas Carol", followed by Donald Duck in "Christmas Capers"; " Pluto's Christmas Tree"; Tom and Jerry in "The Night Before Christmas"; Tweety and Sylvester in "Gift Wrapped"; Woody Woodpecker in "Woody plays Santa"; "Christmas Gifts from the Air"; "Pups Christmas"; and Popeye in "Snow Place Like Home."
Admission: Adults $5, children $3. Running time, about 80 minutes.
Alumni Night set
The Athletic Department is planning to hold an alumni recognition and dedication on Friday, Dec. 1 at the first boys home basketball game.
Included in the ceremony will be the retirement of the jersey numbers of several of Rappahannock High School’s best basketball players: Harry Jordan (class of 76), Mike Leake (class of ’83) and Karen Jordan (class of '86). There will also be a gym dedication ceremony where previous athletic championships will be recognized. For more information contact the Athletic Director at 987-8575.

Epiphany Catholic School will once again be hosting its annual Christmas Crafters Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parish hall at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Culpeper.
This year's bazaar is filled with a wonderful variety of crafters and crafts. After you purchase your craft items have them custom gift wrapped at the custom gift-wrap table and visit the bake sale. Take home a homemade cake, pie, loaf of bread or many goodies for the kids. Refreshments will be served. Barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, popcorn and drinks will be available.
Grief Workshop offered
Hospice of the Rapidan offers free bereavement support groups to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one.
A "Handling Holiday Grief' workshop will be held Monday, Dec. 4 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hospice of the Rapidan Community Room. This workshop is designed to help people cope with the particularly stressful and sometimes painful holiday season.
