C.E. (Ned) Johnson Jr. has purchased "Oak Hill" farm at Sperryville from Mrs. Lois Wood Miller and Mrs. Mary Ann Wood Richardson. The sale was of the 16-room house and 289 acres. "Oak Hill" commands a beautiful view of the town of Sperryville and the surrounding country from atop a hill south of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in the town. "Oak Hill” has been in the same family for the past four generations and with the present sale still remains in the family, for the grandfathers of the present and recent owners were brothers. Walnut Lodge Service Station was taking orders for Sunday cakes, as well as Christmas orders. In addition to Sinclair Gas and Oil, the station also handled a full line of canned goods.
