Nicky, both of Reva, Linda Meredith and her husband Bobby, both of Madison and Cindy Nicholson and her fiance, Dickie Jenkins, both of Castleton; and a son James "Pete" Nicholson Jr. of Castleton.
Additional survivors include three brothers, Charles B. Nicholson of Sperryville, Edward Mac Nicholson of Culpeper and Jimmy Nicholson of Castleton and two sisters, Peggy Brown of Culpeper and Sue Dodson of Manassas.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Nina Mae Nicholson; a brother, Robert Lee Nicholson and a sister, Anne Mae Jenkins.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Nov. 25 at Found & Sons Chapel with Rev. Alpheus Atkins and Rev. Charles Clinedinst officiating.
Interment followed in Etlan Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randy Hitt, Jimmy Hitt and Glenn Hitt Jr., Alan Knighting, Donnie Meredith and John Henry Woodward.
Found & Sons Funeral Home of Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
