wantcu iu wntc again, man^ folks have been kind to me and suggested that I do so. They have said that they always enjoyed my column in the Rappahannock News. Flattery goes a long way with me!

I believe the stroke that I suffered and the following illness had a deleterious effect upon my creative leanings. I have lost some of my mental processes, especially memory. Add the normal aging mental damage, has the boys down at the Lunch Bunch gathering looking at me, whispering and nodding of heads.

The truth is I was sent away to the funny farm for three weeks where they were determined to kill me. My reasoning was that hospitals were better at killing people than anyone else. The more I think about that the more reasonable it gets. I threatened to call my congressman and took my ZOLOF so they didn't go through with it.

I have discovered quite recently that there is one benefit in losing a good memory. I watched a movie last night that I had seen before...It was wonderful. I didn't remember any of it. I intend to pull it out again in six months. * I better make a note of that.

Getting back t6 the subject, creative writing. Like any artist, painter or sculptor, the real big problem is "What to paint", (That will sell or in the case of writing that anyone would print). Once that is decided it is simply a matter of sitting down at the easel or typewriter.

I have, for sometime, wanted to bring forward the subject of dishonesty. The observation that large corporations as well as small are in many cases attempting to charge for something that they haven't delivered. Even credit card companies owned by banks will slip in a charge of several dollars to profit from people who pay the bill without reading
