and the one thing that made our Christmas breakfast "special" was oysters. They were expensive, but were bought once a year.

After breakfast we all gathered around the Christmas tree and opened our presents. Gifts for a typical Christmas morning were: a toy, an orange, candy and a five cent pack of firecrackers.

Our gifts were not as generous as children get today, but all of these made beautiful memories, and made us appreciate the small things of life.

Mrs. Florene Estes spent Thanksgiving Day with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Atkins. We are so glad to know she has improved so much.

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Keyser had as their guests on Thanksgiving Day: Ms. Debbie Keyser, Mr. Spencer Sullivan, Josh Smallwood, Amanda Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Keyser, Katie and David, all of Winchester, and Danny Sullivan of Fredericksburg.
