Bridge replacement
underway on
Route 231
Work has begun to replace the bridge over Shotwell Branch on Madison County Route 231, near the road’s intersection with Route 642, with a double box culvert.
During construction, traffic will be reduced to one-lane, controlled by a traffic signal, with only minor delays anticipated.
Riverview Investments, a contractor for the Virginia Department of TVansportation, is expected to complete the project by mid-summer 2001, weather permitting.
