I thought I detected here
and there in Pond’s
response to Bird some flashes of partisan humor and used what I thought was an appropriate adjective to comment on these. Now I can see, as she bluntly states, that her piece was written in scorn and anger and my use of “flippant” definitely does not serve to describe her remarks. My modest efforts at supporting Bird’s conclusions have drawn her further ireu'
Pond’s gratuitously ad hominum remarks accusing Bird and me of lying and Democrats as being without honor make uphill work of any attempt at a rational debate. Bird was perhaps wise not to attempt it but here goes my ^hot at it.
