Neill-Dore’s presence in the schools began when her daughter Lindsay, now in eighth grade, entered Rappahannock County Elementary School. Her son Alexander is now in sixth grade. She was a founding member of First Thursday Education Support Group, a group of concerned parents dedicated to improving education opportunities for Rappahannock students. She subsequently helped to launch Headwaters, our public education foundation.
This fall, Neill-Dore began a graduate program in School Counseling part time at James Madison University. All the different aspects of Neill-Dore’s participation in school and community make her a tremendous resource for our county and the Starfish program.
The Starfish program currently mentors 22 youth in our county through its mentoring program. Applications are available at any time for the adult program. This month the Starfish RCHS program will begin recruiting rising
