Coolidge members will present five informal noontime programs, entitled “Quartet Conversations,” in the Smithsonian’s Hall of Musical Instruments, exploring, through words and music, the multi-faceted possibilities of the string quartet.
The final “Smithsonian at Little Washington” program this season, another in the ever-popular “Brilliance of the Baroque” concerts, will take place at 8 p.m. on May 12, when harpsichordist Kenneth Slowik will be joined by violist Steven Dann to play the complete sonatas for viola (da gamba) and harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach.
