new discoveries every day. Daily activities this year will focus on insects, snakes, amphibians, trees, gardens, birds and water life.
Activities are most all outdoors and will include games and songs, hiking, identifying butterflies and moths, learning to recognize all kinds of snakes, assessing water quality, catching and releasing wild animals, creating a Nature Museum and producing a camp newspaper.
This year, we will also observe Stars and Planets! Due to popular demand, there will be an overnight campout on July 12.
Lyt Wood, local arborist and one of the camp’s founders, is the camp’s director. Many former campers and counselors will be back to lead the educational and recreational activities.
This camp is truly a community effort, and many local artists, teachers and wildlife experts will help again this year.
