Another camper, Charles Husted, reported on what we learned about life in the mountains:
“Two people came to Nature Camp—a man and a woman. They were playing mountain music on the guitar and violin. A lot of the music originated in Ireland.
They told us the music back then had interesting names like, ‘Throw Some More Pig Feet in the Fire.’ They taught us how to clog. Clogging was like your feet are on fire and you have to jump around to put it out.”
This year’s camp will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, July 2 to July 13. We enroll campers on first-come-firstserved basis, so apply early!
