Virgil Leake

Virgil Oakley Leake, 95, of Orange died Friday, Jan. 18 at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
He was born Nov. 15, 1906 in Rappahannock County, a son of the late Henry H. Leake and Della Dodson Leake.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Oakley Johnson Leake; five brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Leake was a member of the Orange Assembly of God Church; Army Veteran of World War II and a retired painter.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ella B. “Sally” Leake of Orange; a son, Donald Leake and his wife, Barbara of Orange; a grandson, D. Craig Leake and wife, Fe of Richmond; a granddaughter, Gail Watson and her husband, Glenn of Orange; five great-grandchildren and one greatgreat-grandson.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Jan. 21 at the Preddy Funeral Chapel in Orange with Pastor Gregg Vogt and Pastor Perry Utz officiating. Burial was in Graham Cemetery with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post 330 of Culpeper.
