Wrestling
There is some catching up to do with the wrestling teams as weather cancellations have thrown a monkey wrench into the teams’ midseason schedule. The wrestlers have lost out on two tournaments the past few weeks. The Jan. 5 tenteam tournament scheduled at Matoaca High School was canceled due to snow, as was the quad meet scheduled this past weekend at Randolph Macon Academy.
However, the Panther grapplers have sandwiched in some other action along the way.
On Wednesday, Jan. 9, they traveled to Brentsville District High School for a Bull Run District quad event against Brentsville, Strasburg, and George Mason. Last year the top three single “A” wrestling teams in the state were from the Bull Run District and two of those teams were at this mid-week quad. Facing number one Brentsville, number three Strasburg and number nine George Mason was a daunting task for any team.
