THE DAYS

AHEAD

In the weeks and months after the death of a loved one, family members may find themselves dreading the approach of anniversaries and birthdays that remind them of their loss. Instead, they should take pride in how far the have come in accepting their loss. Make it a time to visit the grave to share what has been happening during the year. Honor the day by driving to a special spot that the departed person was know to have enjoyed. Consider writing a letter to your loved one, sharing what is in your heart, and leave it by the grave or send it up in a balloon. On birthdays, take flowers to the cemetery, or plant a shrub or tree.

Even years after a loved one has died, we can find theses special days hard, which is why it is important not to minimize the effects of loss and to take extra special care of yourself when old feelings recur. At the Moser Funeral Home, we offer encouragement to all who seek our services, and we understand that the grieving process is different for every one.
